Happy Holidays

A little belated but sincere.

I've had computer problems lately. My daughter decided to download a hacked copy of the Sims when she couldn't find her install CD, and infected my computer to high-heaven with spam, viruses and the like.

It still isn't quite recovered, so it makes internet use a bit of a bear.

I am starting to catch up on your blogs tho.

I'm on vacation this week and I'm happy to report that I've been running/exercising almost every day. I think I'm getting my groove back and it feels great--especially since I've been eating all those not-so-good-for-you holiday treats!

I'm close to choosing my goal for next year...I'll keep you posted.

At least I feel like running

I'm afraid I don't have much to write about. Work has been extremely busy and I have been forced to commute to the South Bay most days last week (85 miles from my house). So, besides work, my daughter stressing about finals, a house that's so dirty that it should be condemed, I actually squeezed in 2 runs this week. Not bad all considered.

Winter Solstice is almost upon us, that means that finally it will start getting light earlier every night than getting darker. I'm thinking of doing something special to mark the event--but I have no idea what to do.

Well, back to cleaning. Have a nice week.

Do hope to check your blogs soon!

Number of Miles Run this week: 0

That's right...I've done 0 miles.

Yeah, I've been busy. Yeah, I've had activities after work that have prevented me from going out. But I would always make the time to run.

Not this week.

And no, I can't run tonight either. I'm going to a concert that I got tickets to months ago.

I need a kick in the pants---or I'll need to start buying bigger pants.

Which is it?

Winter is bad for running

I can give you a list....but in the Winter I shut down. When it's dark, my body tells me to sleep. I lost count of the number of times I felt tired and ready for bed and the clock just say 7:30pm. Just think what it does to my running.

I'm managing a pitiful 2 miler 3 times during the weekdays. Saturday I usually do a 4 mile trail run with sis or we do a track workout. On Sunday I hike for a couple of miles.

That's it...I hope it's enough to maintain some sort of fitness level--I don't think I'll be much better until the Spring.

I need a goal...I'm thinking the Avenue of the Giants 1/2 marathon in May...but I'm just so undecided.
