A Now for Something Completely Different

Very recently I have started to incorporate strength training in my workouts. I'm *trying* to do 3 days of running, 3 days of weights.

I found that only from a week of doing this, my runs are much, how do I say it, stronger.

I'm finding that my legs have more energy, that they don't tire as they did in the past. My posture is straighter, well...everything is better. And you guess right, I'm running faster too (don't really know how fast, I'm keeping my Garmin at home lately.

So maybe one day, I'll be strong, toned, and faster? Sounds like a win-win to me.

Out from the Ashes

It's a somewhat cheesy analogy, but I view my life over the last 3 weeks as a forest fire. At first it's devastating almost impossible to look at, but eventually, new growth emerges that's even stronger and healthier than before. If someone would have told me where I would be now both mentally and physically a couple of months ago I would've thought them crazy.
But here I am.
I'm not sure if I'll ever post what happened--blogs are just too much of a public place (if you want, you can email for the scoop). My daughter and I are emerging from the ashes stronger than ever.

Life in Upheaval

Something awful has happened and I don't think I can bring myself to write about it yet.

You just never know when your life will turned upside down in an instant.

I can say that running has been a godsend for me. Sometimes you forget how much running relieves you of raw emotion and helps you put things in perspective. I'm not forgetting it now.
